Nearly every lantern display is new for 2026. The walking route moves through four illuminated realms—Magical Forest, Magical Ocean, Pre-Historic Animals, and Wondrous Asia—with large-scale wildlife, mythical creatures, interactive displays, games, and photo stops handcrafted by Tianyu Arts & Culture.
Plan your visit
- Entry is available from 7–10 p.m.; the route closes at 11:30 p.m. Most families spend about two hours on the approximately 1.4-mile route.
- The paved path accommodates strollers and wheelchairs, although it includes some steep hills. A limited supply of strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, and advance-reservation motorized wheelchairs is available.
- The event continues in rain; bring suitable weather gear. Severe conditions may cause a closure, with updates posted by the Zoo.
- There is no off-site parking or shuttle. Event parking costs $7, including for Zoo members.
Select animals and exhibit buildings may remain viewable until about 8:30 p.m., and the carousel operates when daylight and weather allow. Concessions and specialty food are sold along the route. Families should note the photosensitive lighting, and children age 2 or younger enter without a ticket. Wild Lights admission is separate from daytime Zoo admission.
