Race the Runway 5.02K

This professionally chip-timed run and walk takes participants onto the grounds of historic Bowman Field, including a stretch directly on the airport runway alongside aircraft. It is the opening race in Louisville's four-event Mayorthon series.

Race-day experience

Pre-race activities begin at 8 a.m. with light snacks, refreshments, and vendor and sponsor booths. The race starts at 9 a.m., and the published event window continues until 11 a.m. Every finisher receives a commemorative short-sleeved race shirt and custom medal.

Practical details

Packet pickup is scheduled for noon–6 p.m. Friday, August 7, at the Bowman Field Administrative Office. Race-morning pickup is available from 8–8:45 a.m. The course has a participant cap, a water station, and portable restrooms; the finish line is scheduled to close at 10:15 a.m.
