Clifton Heights
This family-friendly, professionally chip-timed 5K begins and ends at the historic Louisville Water Tower. The flat, scenic course travels east and west along River Road, and both runners and walkers are welcome. Participants receive a short-sleeved race shirt, custom finisher medal, water, Powerade, bananas, and trail mix.
Children, strollers, and accessibility
Youth racing independently must be at least 5 years old and able to complete the full 3.1-mile course. Strollers are permitted but must begin at the back of the starting chute. Push-rim wheelchairs are also allowed, with recognition for the top male and female wheelchair finishers. The finish line closes at 9:45 a.m.
Course support and parking
A water station and portable restrooms will be available near the eastern entrance to Thurman Hutchins Park; indoor WaterWorks Museum restrooms will not be open to participants. Weather permitting, parking is available on the Water Tower lawn, with overflow options at Cox's Park, Thurman Hutchins Park, and the former River Road Country Club. River Road between Zorn Avenue and Indian Hills Trail is scheduled to close from 8:15–10 a.m.
Packets and dogs
Packet pickup is noon–6 p.m. Thursday, August 27, at Swags Sport Shoes, 9407 Westport Road, and 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Friday, August 28, at Louisville Water Tower. Race-morning pickup runs from 7:30–8:15 a.m. Another person may collect a packet with the participant's registration confirmation or a copy of their ID.
Leashed dogs may join for an additional $10 benefiting Friends of Louisville Metro Animal Services. Owners must sign a waiver confirming current vaccinations. Registered dogs receive a bandana, and the first dog across the finish line earns a special award basket.
