Rush Hour Orquesta brings together Southern California Latin American musicians for a lively mix of classic 1990s salsa and contemporary rhythms. The band was created by longtime friends Raul Membreno and Jonathan Patterson. Super DJ Robby, a Havana-born salsa DJ who has performed with artists including Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Marc Anthony, and Oscar D’León, keeps the music moving between sets.
Evening schedule and logistics
- Doors open with a complimentary salsa lesson from Dancing 101 with Roberto; no dance experience is needed.
- Live music and social dancing continue afterward.
- Families may bring chairs and blankets.
- Food and beverages will be sold on site, and handcrafted footwear vendor De Belen Store is scheduled to attend.
- Advance RSVP is recommended. Admission remains subject to venue capacity, with walk-ins accepted when space permits.
The gathering is part of LA Plaza’s monthly Summer of Salsa series, which pairs a different live band with DJ Robby and an introductory dance lesson.
