Create a papyrus scene inspired by illustrated passages from the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead—a collection of spells intended to guide people through the afterlife. This drop-in art activity is presented in English and Spanish, and all supplies are provided.

Planning your visit

Families may bring a picnic and a blanket or towel for sitting outdoors. Folding chairs, glass, metal cutlery, and alcohol are prohibited. The workshop needs no separate ticket, but every visitor must reserve timed entry to the Getty Villa; parking costs extra.

Only front-facing child carriers may enter the galleries, and strollers must be smaller than 31 × 52 inches. Complimentary strollers and wheelchairs are available first-come, first-served at the T1 parking level and Entrance Hall coat check.
