All Space Considered – July 2026

This live public astronomy program brings Griffith Observatory’s curatorial staff and a guest scientist together to explain current developments in space science. July’s planned segments cover space news, notable astrophotography, recent and upcoming launches, and a guest presentation by Penn State astronomer Joel Leja.

Leja studies how galaxies form across cosmic time using major telescope surveys, supercomputers, and data-intensive models. His presentation will introduce the James Webb Space Telescope’s exploration of the early universe, including the unexpectedly bright and still-mysterious objects nicknamed “little red dots.”

Admission is free, and the program is also streamed online. Foundation members receive priority seating in the theater.
