Touch Tank

Meet marine animals such as chocolate chip sea stars, pencil sea urchins, and red-legged hermit crabs in a guided, hands-on encounter. Educators help visitors observe and interact with the animals safely and respectfully while making connections to marine science.

Recommended for all ages and included with museum admission or membership. Space is limited. Touching shellfish—or water where shellfish are present—can trigger reactions in highly sensitive people, ranging from itching, rashes, and hives to severe allergic symptoms.
