Southmoreland
A large outdoor celebration stretches from the Nelson-Atkins sculpture park to Brush Creek, with live music, art activities, food trucks, lawn games, bubbles, juggling, a pop-up playground, hula hoops, stilt walking, and opportunities to make music. Families may bring a picnic; grills, stakes, and tents are not allowed. The party proceeds rain or shine.

A quieter Book Beats area runs from 5:30–7 p.m. under the trees with reading, lo-fi music, and relaxed social time.
Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard between Oak Street and Rockhill Road closes from 2–9 p.m. Drivers can detour using Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Main MAX, Troost MAX, and the streetcar's Plaza stop offer transit alternatives.
