The museum and Kansas City Parks and Recreation turn the South Lawn, sculpture park, and Theis Park into a free festival with live music, storytime, artmaking, games, food trucks, and activities for all ages.
Family highlights
- Library storytime, giant bubbles, hula hoopers, lawn games, a pop-up playground, juggling, badminton, and StoneLion Puppet Theatre
- Pinwheel artmaking, museum-history puzzles, a dog-friendly photo stop and craft, and community information tents
- Art Course mini golf, with a 7 p.m. final tee time and separate registration
Music runs across three stages. Food trucks line Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, and free drinking water is available. Indoor and portable accessible restrooms are provided; Bloch Lobby and Noguchi Court serve as cooling spaces.
Admission is free; advance registration speeds check-in. Garage parking is $20 and free for members and guests with ADA placards.
