Singers spend the week developing their voices through choral rehearsals, music theory, sight-reading, and hands-on breakout sessions. The program also incorporates Orff instruments, percussion, dance, and choreography, along with supervised games and activities. Jacksonville Children’s Chorus staff and guest conductors lead the instruction, and each camper receives a festival T-shirt.
Typical day
- 8:30–9:00 a.m.: Drop-off
- Morning and afternoon choir rehearsals
- Four breakout sessions covering subjects such as theory, sight-reading, instruments, percussion, and choreography
- Noon lunch; campers must bring their own lunch
- Afternoon dance workshop
- 4:00 p.m.: Dismissal and pickup
The final Friday includes a community showcase from 4:00–5:00 p.m., where singers perform material developed during camp. The organizer describes the program as intended for treble voices—soprano and alto—and its registration form accepts rising second- through sixth-grade students.
Registration
Advance registration and payment are required. The current fee is $350 for this camp week; selecting more than one week requires paying the fee for each week. Families complete the registration form first and then submit payment using the instructions provided by the organizer.
