Butler–Tarkington
Alfred Hitchcock’s 1950 mystery follows aspiring actor Eve as she hides her friend Jonathan after he is accused of killing his lover’s husband, then tries to decide whether to trust him or the investigating detective. The 111-minute film carries the historical “Approved” rating but centers on murder and romantic intrigue.
This is member-appreciation night. Members receive one complimentary popcorn voucher per event ticket, redeemable from the Newfields culinary team that evening, and each active membership may enter once for a film-themed gift-basket raffle.
Plan your evening
The lawn opens at 7 p.m.; the movie begins at dusk. Bring blankets or low chairs, snacks, nonalcoholic drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses, and bug spray. Concessions and drinks are sold until 30 minutes after the feature begins. Advance tickets are required, and guests age 15 and younger must stay with an adult. Outside alcohol, pets, large candles, knives, and cumbersome items are prohibited.
Weather and accessibility
The rain-or-shine series moves indoors to the Tobias Theater at 9 p.m. when weather requires it, with changes emailed to ticket holders. Limited-mobility seating and assistive listening devices may be requested, and closed captions are supplied when available. Newfields’ accessibility and parking guide details accessible parking and first-come mobility aids.
