Rocket Bootcamp

Participants become aerospace engineers for the day, assembling a complete, flight-ready rocket from the airframe up and then painting and personalizing it. Certified rocketry mentor Tanaka Chonyera and volunteers lead the fast-paced build stations, and no previous experience is required.

Each participant leaves with the rocket they built and an invitation to fly it at an Aug. 9 launch in Muncie. A charter bus is planned for transportation to and from the launch field, with the pickup location still to be announced. Preregistration is strongly encouraged because the workshop is limited to 15 participants; walk-ups may be accepted until noon if space remains. Children ages 8–10 must attend with an adult.
