The second Indy Shorts evening at Newfields showcases a selection of the 2026 festival’s award-winning films, including its Oscar-qualifying Grand Prize winners. The program belongs to the ninth annual Indy Shorts Film Festival, running July 21–26. Because no program rating is published and the subjects can differ from film to film, this night is best approached with older children.
Plan your evening
The amphitheater lawn opens at 7 p.m.; the shorts begin at dusk. Families may bring blankets, low chairs, snacks, nonalcoholic drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses, and bug spray. Beer, wine, soda, water, and concessions are available until 30 minutes after the screening starts. Leave pets, outside alcohol, large candles, knives, and difficult-to-carry items at home.
Advance tickets are required. Reserved seating supplies an armless low-profile chair in Row G, and prepaid 4-by-5-foot blankets can be collected at the event and kept. Children age 15 and younger must remain with an adult.
Weather and accessibility
The event proceeds rain or shine. A weather relocation moves the screening to the Tobias Theater at 9 p.m.; ticket holders will be notified by email. Limited-mobility seating and assistive listening devices are available by request, with closed captions when available. Newfields’ accessibility and parking guide covers accessible parking and first-come mobility equipment.
