Eiteljorg members can meet artist and curatorial advisor Andie Arana Gomez for coffee, doughnuts, and a small-group conversation connected to Consejo Gráfico Nacional, the museum’s Latino-American print exhibition. Space is limited, and advance RSVP is required.
Arana Gomez was born in Guatemala City and moved with their family to central Indiana in 2015. They earned a BFA in studio art with a French minor from Ball State University in 2025, concentrating on drawing, painting, and printmaking. Their senior thesis reinterpreted the Mayan creation story while examining cultural heritage, immigration, and assimilation.
The artist later completed the Latino Artist Mentorship Program and has shown work at the Eiteljorg, Newfields, Indy Arts Council’s Gallery 924, Minnetrista Museum and Gardens, and Ohio’s Manifest Gallery. The discussion may be most engaging for older school-age children who are interested in art and cultural identity, although the organizer does not publish an age restriction.
