Bob Fosse’s 1972 musical follows British academic Brian Roberts as he arrives in 1931 Berlin, befriends American cabaret performer Sally Bowles, and encounters a world of excess while the Nazi Party gains power. The film runs 124 minutes and is rated PG. Before the screening, the Indy Dance Council will lead dance lessons.

Plan your evening

The lawn opens at 7 p.m., with the feature beginning at dusk. Families may bring blankets, low chairs, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray, and nonalcoholic drinks. Beer, wine, soda, water, and concessions are sold until 30 minutes after the feature begins. Outside alcohol, pets, large candles, knives, and cumbersome items that cannot be carried down the amphitheater steps are prohibited.

Advance tickets are required. Optional reserved seating includes an armless low-profile chair in Row G; prepaid 4-by-5-foot blankets may also be collected at the event and kept afterward. Guests age 15 and younger must remain with an adult.

Weather and accessibility

The series runs rain or shine. If weather forces the program indoors, the film will screen in the Tobias Theater at 9 p.m.; ticket holders will receive an email about the change. Limited-mobility seating and assistive listening devices are available on request, and closed captions are provided when available. Newfields also offers accessible parking and first-come wheelchairs and rollators; consult its accessibility and parking guide.
