DACAMERA presents a jazz double bill spanning Texas tradition and contemporary New York experimentation. Houston saxophonist Jason Hainsworth opens with a tribute to the Texas Tenors and their forceful blend of swing, bebop, R&B, and blues. New Jazz Underground follows with saxophone, bass, and drums combining classic jazz foundations with hip-hop, house, Afro-beats, and Afro-Cuban influences.
Covered seats require free assigned tickets released online at 10 a.m. one day before the show; additional tickets are available from the box office one hour before curtain. The hill is unticketed, and the performance goes on rain or shine. A livestream is also planned.
