What to bring

  • Closed-toe shoes and long pants; choose clothing that can become dirty, muddy, or wet
  • A refillable water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, and insect repellent
  • A completed volunteer waiver and photo release if one is not already on file
  • Optional rain gear, sun-protective layers, a wide-brimmed hat, and personal gardening gloves; gloves are supplied when the project requires them

Projects continue in rain but may be canceled for severe weather, with notice sent by text or email at least one hour before the shift. Park in Lot A and meet at the metal service gate on the side of the garden nearest the Sam Houston Monument.
