This InnerSections program premieres Socially Overwired, a 22-minute documentary examining how smartphones, social media, and excessive screen time affect young people’s emotional and psychological health. Medical research, expert perspectives, and adolescents’ firsthand accounts frame practical approaches to healthier digital habits at home, at school, and in the wider community.

A conversation and audience Q&A follow the film. The panel features producer-director Stacey Summers; child and adolescent mental-health specialist Jamie Freeny, DrPH, MPH; child and adolescent psychiatrist Katelyn Tate, DO; and psychiatrist Karolyn Skalany, MD. The program is particularly relevant to older children, teens, parents, and educators navigating digital wellness.
