Houston Shakespeare Festival stages Shakespeare’s magical final play as an approachable outdoor adventure. Exiled Duchess Prospera conjures a storm that strands her enemies on a remote island, then uses magic and the spirit Ariel to steer a tale of revenge toward reconciliation. The production emphasizes spectacle, humor, wonder, and an easy-to-follow story for first-time Shakespeare audiences.

The performance uses strobe lighting; families with photosensitive attendees should use discretion. Covered seats require free assigned tickets released online at 10 a.m. one day before the show, with additional tickets at the box office one hour before curtain. Hill seating needs no ticket, and the show goes on rain or shine.
