Freedom Train

Inspired by historical events, this children’s play follows a courageous mother and daughter escaping enslavement on a Texas plantation in 1845. Their dangerous journey leads south toward Mexico, where slavery had already been abolished, introducing young audiences to a less commonly told chapter of American history.

Express Children’s Theatre presents the serious subject through a professional educational production created for children and families. No tickets or reservations are accepted; seating is first come, first served. School groups may optionally submit the venue’s attendance form.
