This hands-on bug celebration is led by the Zoo’s herpetology and entomology teams. Families can learn how insects and other small creatures pollinate plants, enrich soil, support agriculture, and maintain healthy habitats—and how planting native milkweed can help local wildlife.

Activities include bug-keeper conversations and handling experiences, planting green milkweed or making native seed balls, sensory exploration and bug-themed breathing exercises in the Wildlife Workshop, and viewing fruit-juice artwork created by Bug House animal ambassadors as enrichment. Keeper activities are scheduled at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m.

Programming is included with Zoo admission and supplies are limited, so hands-on components may close as materials run out.
