Author, photographer, and architectural historian Dale A. Carlson traces Michigan Central Station from its unexpectedly early opening after the old depot burned in 1913 through service, decline, abandonment, and restoration. Historic and contemporary photographs illustrate the building’s dramatic transformation.

The illustrated lecture runs about one hour, followed by discussion and audience stories about the landmark. It is part of the museum’s 75th-anniversary celebration.
