Detroit's second annual Chinatown Block Party brings families, residents, and visitors together for Asian American culture, neighborhood history, and local businesses. More than 50 food and merchandise vendors join cultural performances, DJs, a historical exhibition, film screenings, and children's activities.
Schedule highlights
- Noon: historical exhibition and qigong begin
- 1 p.m.: lion dance
- 2 p.m.: keynote and book signing with Curtis Chin
- 3 p.m.: dragon dance procession
- 4 p.m.: documentary screenings and filmmaker discussions at the Masonic Temple
The Little Dumplings Kids Corner and an interactive 3D painting add hands-on family options. A free RSVP is encouraged but not required; film reservations help the organizers plan seating.
