Comic artist, illustrator, and writer Katie Cook leads a hands-on drawing and storytelling activity. Young artists can learn techniques for creating expressive characters and imaginative worlds, then make artwork of their own.
Cook, a Michigan native and College for Creative Studies graduate, created Gronk: A Monster’s Story and Nothing Special and has contributed to My Little Pony, Star Wars, Marvel, and Jim Henson projects. The workshop is part of the museum’s Detroit comic-creators celebration.
