Birding Belle Isle

Explore Belle Isle’s birdlife on a guided, approximately one-mile loop suitable for newcomers as well as experienced birders. August’s outing meets at the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Gateway trailhead and follows a flat but unpaved route.

The exact birding location varies from month to month based on current activity. A limited supply of binoculars can be borrowed, and staff will bring a spotting scope when conditions make it useful. Registrants receive detailed parking directions.

Preregistration is required. The program itself is free, but vehicles need a Recreation Passport to enter Belle Isle Park.
