Maker Mornings: Chalk Exploration

Children can experiment freely with chalk outside the museum’s front entrance, expanding their ideas about what art can be and how it can be made. Activities are intentionally open-ended so each child can follow their interests while caregivers observe, ask questions and join the exploration.

The program is designed for ages 15 months–8 years, though siblings of any age are welcome. Summer Maker Mornings are free, require no registration and welcome families to drop in at any point during the two-hour window. Museum admission afterward is always free for visitors 17 and younger.
