This guided maker session combines digital fabrication with botany. Participants learn the basics of laser cutting and safe equipment operation, assemble a wooden flower press, and personalize its plates with a selection of engravable designs.
The workshop also explores the science and techniques behind preserving seasonal flowers. Pre-pressed blooms are available for making bookmarks and cards, and every participant takes home the completed press. Sears think[box] provides the flower-press supplies.
The program is sold out, but an organizer-managed waitlist remains available. Children must attend with an adult.
