Carillonneur Alan Bowman performs music spanning several centuries on the McGaffin tower’s bells. The program ranges from Baroque and classical transcriptions to familiar music from Carmen, The Wizard of Oz, and Yellow Submarine.
Families can listen from the lawn, surrounding campus spaces, or their car. The event is rain or shine, and car-horn applause is part of the tradition. Free parking is available in the Euclid Avenue lot in front of the tower and along Bellflower Road; an online livestream is also offered.
