The Flats
Homeschool families explore how energy moves through ocean, freshwater and tropical-forest food webs. Activities examine how plants and animals are connected, who eats whom and why each organism matters to a healthy ecosystem.
What to expect
- A drop-in, educator-led classroom activity from 10 a.m.–noon
- A self-guided scavenger hunt available throughout the Aquarium from 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Themed activity sheets prepared at K–3 and grades 4–8 levels
- Additional programs from the Aquarium’s daily activities schedule
Advance registration is required, including for passholders, so enough activity supplies can be prepared. Admission and program activities are included. Families may bring a packed lunch and use the available eating space; the Aquarium has no on-site food vendor.
