DANCECleveland Community Dance Day and Northeast Ohio Student Showcase

A free day of movement begins with more than a dozen classes for different ages and abilities across the Playhouse Square district. Beginner choices include contemporary dance, hip-hop, flamenco, tap, Polynesian dance, line dance, African drum and dance, ballroom and dance fitness. Advanced ballet, jazz, contact improvisation and Muv Method classes are also scheduled, along with adaptive contemporary, tap and African drum-and-dance instruction.

Classes run in blocks between 10 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. At 3 p.m., the Allen Theatre hosts a free, general-admission showcase featuring regional youth dancers and choreographers performing a range of styles in a professional theater setting. Individual classes require advance registration.
