Route
- Start at the main Halsted Street entrance and enter the wetland-side path network.
- Follow paths down through the quarry landscape toward the fishing pond, choosing the gentler junctions if avoiding steps.
- Climb toward the hilltop skyline overlook, then descend toward the athletic field and running track.
- Use the remaining park paths to close the circuit at the Halsted Street entrance.
Good to know
The park publishes more than 1.7 miles of paths, not a single 1.7-mile signed loop. This route combines that network editorially; use on-site junction signs, and expect boardwalk, grating, crushed stone, hill grades, and possible steps.
