Directions

Route

  1. Start at the main Halsted Street entrance and enter the wetland-side path network.
  2. Follow paths down through the quarry landscape toward the fishing pond, choosing the gentler junctions if avoiding steps.
  3. Climb toward the hilltop skyline overlook, then descend toward the athletic field and running track.
  4. Use the remaining park paths to close the circuit at the Halsted Street entrance.

Good to know

The park publishes more than 1.7 miles of paths, not a single 1.7-mile signed loop. This route combines that network editorially; use on-site junction signs, and expect boardwalk, grating, crushed stone, hill grades, and possible steps.
