Route

  1. Start at the natural-area entrance near 1400 S Linn White Drive.
  2. Follow the main paved multi-use path south through prairie and savanna habitat.
  3. Continue toward the lagoon and scenic overlooks until reaching one mile from the start.
  4. Turn around at the one-mile point and retrace the paved path to the entrance.

Good to know

Chicago Park District calls this an accessible paved out-and-back but does not publish the length of this two-mile selection. Turn around after one mile; hills in the surrounding natural area rise as much as 50 feet, so stay on the main paved path for the gentlest option.
