Families can drop into the Ryan Learning Center’s Art Exchange to make a colorful abstract drawing inspired by Luchita Hurtado and the exhibition Beyond Form: Abstraction at Midcentury.
The visit can also include the adjacent Multisensory Gallery and its touch, listening, and pattern-rubbing experiences, or a stop at JourneyMaker to design and print a personalized museum tour. Early learners can use blocks, books, stacking toys, and puzzles; the art project is suitable for young children with caregiver help.
Planning your visit
- The Ryan Learning Center is always free, and no ticket or registration is required.
- Enter through the Modern Wing and turn left on the first floor.
- Children 13 and younger must remain with an adult age 18 or older.
- The Art Exchange welcomes families and individual visitors but cannot accommodate visiting school, youth, or daycare groups.
