This five-day camp introduces rising PreK–5 campers to the work involved in understanding and caring for wildlife. Age-group activities range from investigating animals’ extraordinary senses and how animal families care for their young to studying zookeeper duties, animal behavior, specialized diets, health care, conservation, and zoo operations. Some groups observe an animal-training session, but campers do not receive direct access to animals or habitats.
Campers must register for the grade they will enter in fall. Rising PreK campers must be at least 4 on the first day and independently toilet trained. Registration must be completed by a legal guardian, and required forms and current medical information are due by May 1 or within 72 hours of a later purchase.
Optional aftercare runs until 5 p.m. for $150. A $65 nut-free lunch package includes a daily snack; otherwise, families must pack nut-free food that needs no refrigeration.
