Guests with disabilities and Veterans can explore the museum with family members and companions in a relaxed, accepting setting. Registrants receive exclusive access from 9–10 a.m.; exhibits and experiences remain in a lower-sensory format until noon. Admission is free and covers the museum for the rest of the day.

  • Sensory-friendly animal encounters and the first-flight butterfly release
  • A quiet room for sensory breaks
  • Sensory kits available free from coat check with a photo ID

The building’s Cannon Drive entrance, elevators, exhibits, and restrooms are wheelchair accessible, and child-changing tables are available on every level. ASL interpreters and assistive-listening devices can be arranged at no charge with two weeks’ notice by emailing access@naturemuseum.org.
