This technical-theater camp explores how sound designers create effects such as rumbling thunder and creaking doors. In collaboration with professional theater artists, campers learn about sound design and Foley, then write and record an original radio play filled with effects they devise and perform themselves.
Rather than a staged final show, the week concludes with a classroom listening party where family and friends hear the completed recording. Free before-care runs from 8:30–9:30 a.m., and free after-care is available from 4–5:30 p.m.
Camp logistics
- Masks are welcome but not required.
- Campers should wear movement-friendly clothing and secure, closed-toe shoes. Because projects may involve props and craft materials, a smock or clothes that can encounter paint and glue are helpful.
- Pack labeled water, a nut-free lunch, and two nut-free snacks each day. No refrigerator or microwave is available for student use.
- Campers must be signed in and out; caregivers cannot remain onsite during camp.
- The venue offers free adjacent parking, accessible parking, a ramp and elevator, stroller parking, and gender-neutral family restrooms with changing tables.
See the education policies and FAQs for waivers, attendance, refunds, late pickup, and health guidance.
