PlayLab PlayDate: Music & Movement with La Escuelita Bombera de Corazón

Ivelisse Bombera De Corazón Diaz and La Escuelita Bombera de Corazón lead an interactive music-and-movement program for families with young children. The Humboldt Park performing-arts school shares Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba through percussion—including buleo, maraca, and cúa—along with dance, singing, and history. Children can experience the tradition through movement, instruments, and live participation.

Before you go

• This is a drop-in activity; advance registration is not required.
• The program is designed for ages 2–6, though siblings may join the family.
• A caregiver age 18 or older must remain with the children.
• Meet in the Crown Family PlayLab on the Ground Level of the East Wing and consider arriving 10 minutes early.
• General museum admission is required, but the PlayDate has no additional charge.
