This half-day intensive treats each musical-theater song as a story. Working with professional theater artists, campers develop characters, practice vocal technique, explore emotional storytelling, and learn to connect more authentically with their material. Instruction combines individual coaching with ensemble work and helps participants expand their musical-theater repertoire.

The week ends with an intimate showcase for family and friends in the Pritzker Family Studio Theatre. Masks are welcome but not required.

Camp logistics

  • Campers should dress for movement in secure, closed-toe shoes. Because activities may involve props, sets, instruments, or costumes, clothing suitable for washable craft materials is recommended.
  • Bring labeled water and the food needed for the session; the organizer’s general camp guidance requests a nut-free lunch and two nut-free snacks and notes that no refrigerator or microwave is available.
  • Every camper must be signed in and out. Caregivers cannot remain in the building during camp.
  • The venue has a free adjacent parking lot, accessible parking, a ramp and elevator, and gender-neutral family restrooms with changing tables.

Additional preparation, attendance, waiver, and refund information appears in the education policies and FAQs.
