A hands-on celebration of insects, spiders, and other arthropods, with activities available throughout the afternoon. Families can:

  • Meet native insects and spiders in the Bug Zoo
  • Examine animals through the BugScope with a museum entomologist
  • Watch insect-pinning demonstrations
  • Meet University of Illinois scientists who turn insect discoveries into engineering ideas
  • Try a Bugstacle Course designed with younger visitors in mind
  • Take nets outside to look for insects and spiders around the prairie and pond

The program welcomes all ages and is particularly geared toward young bug enthusiasts and their caregivers. Tickets include museum admission and entry to the Judy Istock Butterfly Haven. Family and Family+ members receive discounted admission; Museums for All pricing is available by contacting programs@naturemuseum.org.
