Outer Harbor
Older campers grow, harvest, prepare, preserve, and compost vegetarian food. Projects include pickling vegetables, making butter and ice cream, tasting local wild edible plants, and learning about honeybees. The week also includes visits to Massachusetts Avenue Project for urban farming and Farmer Pirates for a composting-facility tour.
The session is sold out, with a waitlist available. Drop-off is 8:30–9 a.m., pickup is 4–4:30 p.m., and prearranged late pickup is offered until 5:30 p.m. for $12 per 30 minutes. Campers bring a bagged lunch; a snack is provided without refrigeration. Registration materials and payment are due at least two weeks before camp.
