This community-focused summer concert opens the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra’s traditional patron-appreciation performance to everyone. JoAnn Falletta leads a program of lively selections that the orchestra’s musicians enjoy but seldom perform. Conductors Shutong Chen, Dajoung Choi, Mason Cancilla, and Grant O’Brien also participate, along with cellists Ethan Blake and Simon Housner.
Program
- Gershwin’s Strike Up the Band overture
- Vivaldi’s Concerto in G minor for Two Cellos and Orchestra

- Coleridge-Taylor’s Ballade, Op. 33
- All four dance episodes from Copland’s Rodeo: “Buckaroo Holiday,” “Corral Nocturne,” “Saturday Night Waltz,” and “Hoe-Down”
