Butterfly Release

This small-group experience gives participants early access to the Botanical Gardens and Butterfly Experience before public admission begins. An educator introduces the butterflies’ life cycle, behavior, and ecological role, then each participant helps release a butterfly into the exhibit. The session is limited to 15 people.

Daytime admission is included, so families may remain afterward to explore the conservatory. Advance online purchase is required, and every attendee—including children age 2 and younger—must have a ticket. Member discounts do not apply to this special program.

The connected Butterfly Experience guidance says strollers, wheelchairs, and other mobility devices are permitted. Visitors must not touch, hold, feed, or catch butterflies and should move slowly if one lands on them.
