Museum curators begin this limited-capacity experience in the Reading Room with a close viewing of collection artifacts, then lead guests aboard USS Constitution to explore how sailors lived and worked in the early 1800s. Attendance is capped at 15, and each ticket includes an Exploring Old Ironsides souvenir guide.
Important logistics
- Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.
- Adults 18 and older need government-issued photo identification to enter the active-duty Navy vessel.
- Guests must board the spar deck by ramp without assistance and use steep, ladder-like steps to reach lower decks.
- Strollers, walkers, and scooters cannot board; wheelchair access depends on favorable tide conditions.
