The Highland Street Foundation covers carousel rides for this special free-ride day. Children can choose among hand-carved New England creatures inspired by Boston Harbor and by drawings created by Boston students, including a peregrine falcon, green sea turtle, and sea-serpent gondola.
The carousel was developed with the Institute for Human Centered Design and includes features intended to support riders with physical, sensory, and cognitive disabilities.
