Meet the Beekeeper

See working honeybee colonies up close with Boston Nature Center and Boston Area Beekeepers Association staff. Families can examine honeycomb, raw honey, and young bees, learn how a hive functions, and possibly spot the queen. Visitors may try on a beekeeper jacket and veil while asking questions about hive care and beekeeping techniques.

This is a drop-in program. Protective jackets and veils are supplied. Wear loose long pants, socks, thick gloves, and closed-toe shoes, and avoid perfume, cologne, scented hairspray, or other strong fragrances that could disturb the colonies.
