Boston Harbor Islands
An overnight, backcountry-style family camping experience on Spectacle Island. Tickets include round-trip ferry transportation, one night in the group camping area, continental breakfast, ranger- and Boston Harbor Now-led games and nature walks, and s'mores.
Evening and morning plan
- Take the 4:30 p.m. ferry to the island and begin setting up tents after 5:30 p.m.
- Optional programming includes a sunset nature walk, stargazing, bingo, lawn games, a Junior Ranger program, art activities, a wellness station, and s'mores. Night activities finish by 9:30 p.m.
- Quiet hours are 10 p.m.–7 a.m. Breakfast is served from 8–10 a.m., and camping gear must be packed by 11 a.m.
Bring tents with stakes no longer than eight inches, sleeping pads and bedding, outdoor clothing, eating and cooking equipment, and enough food and nonalcoholic drinks for the stay. Only portable backpacking stoves may be used in the designated beach cooking area. Fires, charcoal grills, alcohol, smoking, vaping, amplified sound, pets other than service dogs, collecting shells or sea glass, and nighttime beach access are prohibited. All trash must be carried off the island.
The event runs in rain but will be canceled for extreme weather, with a rescheduled date or refund offered. Dinner may be brought from home or purchased from listed island and Long Wharf-area vendors.
