Artist Reception: “because you are the sun; because you are the thread”

This participatory performance and reception celebrates Vivian Tran’s interactive public artwork because you are the sun; because you are the thread. Visitors can listen to music, try chè thái—a Vietnamese iced dessert—and add a patch to an expanding shade quilt.

Artist remarks begin at 6 p.m. Afterward, guests are invited to join a collective movement performance that pushes a vending cart along the Greenway while parading the quilt conga-line style. The work connects Tran’s exploration of bodily movement and family narrative with An Hà’s interest in Vietnamese dining culture and assemblage.
