Families camp overnight at the Zoo, exploring exhibits after hours and learning about African penguins, reptiles, mammals, and local nocturnal wildlife. The program includes a guided nighttime perspective on the Zoo, participatory science games, and an animal-ambassador encounter.

Tickets include dinner, breakfast, activities, and Zoo admission the following day. Dinner is expected to include salad, cheese and pepperoni pizza, and soft drinks; breakfast may include bagels, muffins, fruit, coffee, tea, and juice. Guests with dietary restrictions should bring suitable food.

What to bring

  • Tent and sleeping bag, mat, cot, or air mattress
  • Weather-appropriate clothing, pillow, toiletries, and medications
  • Flashlight rather than a headlamp
  • Snacks, reusable water bottle, change of clothes, and optional eye mask or earplugs

Reservations are required and space is limited. The Zoo may move the overnight indoors or cancel because of weather; participants are notified the morning of the program, and Zoo-cancelled overnights receive full refunds. Guest cancellations qualify for full refunds only when made at least two weeks before the event.
