Homeschool Day

Homeschool students can supplement life-science, botanical and environmental studies with a self-guided Garden visit. Grade-specific materials are available in the Visitor Center, and volunteers stationed around the grounds introduce students to noteworthy natural phenomena.

Suggested explorations include the Fuqua Conservatory’s tropical rainforest, orchids and unusual succulents from South Africa and Madagascar; the treetop-level Kendeda Canopy Walk; and the Edible Garden’s food plants.

Walk-ups are welcome. The listed price applies separately to each student and to as many as two chaperones per student; Garden members attend free and do not need tickets. Parking and sales tax are additional, and outside food and drink are not permitted.
