American Tall Tales

Doctor Bigelow’s traveling Wild West medicine show rolls into town with musicians, puppeteers and American legends whose stories are too large for an ordinary stage. Hand-and-rod puppets, shadow play, large body puppets and live music bring Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, Pecos Bill, John Henry and quick-thinking Sally Cato to life.

Admission includes the performance, the Jim Henson Collection, Global Gallery, the current special exhibition and limited free onsite parking. Each ticket also comes with a take-home Create-A-Puppet Kit featuring Babe the Blue Ox. A pop-up display, Stars, Stripes & Strings: Pioneers of American Puppetry, is included and features puppets and archival material connected with Tony Sarg, Bil Baird and Marjorie Batchelder McPharlin.
